ROCK DINNER

Washington State Wine Cross Modal Dining Event
This immersive experiential wine activation celebrated the musical and cultural heritage of Washington Statethrough a curated wine tasting and paired dinner for press and trade audiences.
Hosted at legendary live music venue Omeara, with food created by the neighbouring In Horto kitchen team, the event combined wine education, gastronomy and live performance into a single multi-sensory experience. Guests were welcomed with a self-pour wine tasting, before being seated for a six-course dinner, with each dish carefully designed to pair with a specific Washington State wine.
Wine, Food & Music Pairing Concept
Each wine pairing extended beyond food to include a paired piece of music, creating a layered sensory narrative. The structure, aromatics and character of each wine informed the selection of music, with tempo, pitch and instrumentation chosen to echo and amplify the tasting experience.
Rather than traditional tasting notes, the music functioned as a non-verbal interpretation of flavour, enhancing guests’ understanding and enjoyment of each wine. Musical selections were also drawn from genres rooted in the same cultural landscape as the wines, reinforcing a sense of place and provenance.
As each course was served, the paired piece was performed live by Xavior Roide—composer, producer and artist, formerly of Placebo. The musical programme was co-curated by Roide alongside wine expert and former chef Mike Knowlden, ensuring a seamless integration of sound, taste and storytelling.
